August 2010: Staff Profiles- Michele

I started in the flooring industry a little over 16 years ago in the data processing department of Wanke Cascade. After nine months and further training I was moved to the tile order desk. After four and a half years, I ended up moving to the Cronin Company for another five years. My time at both order desks taught me so much about the flooring industry and the various products available.

During my time at Cronin, I was approached by Brandy, the owner of Area Floors. I was captivated by her company and anxious to learn another side of the business. I decided to take the leap and I am so happy that I did. I started working as an inside sales representative and loved every minute of it. I also began learning the inside systems that Area Floors had in place. Three years ago, I began Managin the Tigard Store. I really enjoy helping customers design and pick out products for their homes.

On a personal note, I am the mother of three beautiful children from age four to fifteen, with one on the way. I love

being a mom and my family is the most important part of my life. I also enjoy the outdoors, especially during our beautiful summers. I adore the long days and summer sunshine Oregon has to offer. I hope to one day travel the world and experience other cultures, once my children are older.
